Assessment centres
More than half of the medium-sized to large organisations in Belgium and the Netherlands work with the assessment centre method for selection, promotion and potential assessment. Not only because of the reliability of the results and the high predictive value of this method; there are other reasons as well.
Accessible and reliable
The assessment centre method is accessible not only to HR specialists but also to line managers. No heavy psychological jargon is used; we speak a language that is comprehensible to everyone.
Last but not least, the assessment centre method implies an extremely acceptable ‘democratic’ ritual. The candidate is assessed openly on the basis of his/her competencies, not on any underlying personality characteristics that are ingrained and difficult to change. Moreover, he/she is assessed by at least two assessors with equal influence who are familiar with the function and – regardless of rank and status - observe behaviour, assess and finally arrive at a consensus in accordance with a strict methodology.
Dialogue
During the assessment centre day the candidate also has the chance to enter into maximum dialogue and is given various opportunities to demonstrate his/her capabilities. All this ensures that, together, the parties achieve an integrated final result.
