Who are you and what roles do you take on at Quintessence?
I’m Kevin, and I work as a Senior HR Consultant at Quintessence. At Quintessence, it’s possible to wear different hats – which suits my profile and motivational drivers perfectly. In addition to my role as an Assessment Consultant, I also coordinate our internal operations and people-related topics. That includes a wide range of responsibilities such as employer branding, recruitment & selection, and onboarding for both permanent and freelance colleagues. I’m also actively involved in several strategic projects. Based on my background in talent management and diversity & inclusion, I contribute to our training pillar by integrating these themes.
What makes your approach unique? What sets you apart in your role(s)?
My approach is defined by starting every assessment and conversation with a curious and approachable mindset – always looking for a genuine connection.
Humour is a big part of who I am and how I work. It’s my secret ingredient, along with expertise, genuine enthusiasm and an inclusive view of the world.
How have you seen HR and competency management evolve in recent years?
It’s an interesting moment to reflect on this, especially now that diversity & inclusion policies are under pressure on a global scale. I’m fascinated by how resilient and consistent organisations are in their responses. From my roles in Employer Branding and Diversity & Inclusion, I’ve seen authenticity become increasingly important. One size fits nobody well. I’ve also noticed HRM’s growing presence at the strategic table, and the rising importance of HR data. I truly believe that organisations can achieve through authentic strategy what it often takes governments years to accomplish.
Artificial Intelligence is increasingly becoming part of HR processes – soon also at Quintessence.
How do you view the integration of AI in the way we work, and what are you looking forward to?
I’ll admit – by nature, I tend to be a bit more sceptical of change. I’m that person who loves going back to the same great hotel because it was a good experience. :) That said, I’ve come to really appreciate the value of AI when used purposefully. Maintaining a critical perspective is key – to preserve authenticity and humanity. I’ve experienced how AI can help us focus more on where we as humans truly make the difference: in connection and people-centred authenticity.
Which five words would you use to describe Quintessence as an organisation and as an employer? Feel free to elaborate :)
